Sean “Diddy” Combs Trial Begins with Testimony
The trial of Sean “Diddy” Combs kicked off on Monday in U.S. District Court in Manhattan, and it began with some rather shocking testimony. A male escort took the stand, claiming he had been compensated to engage in sexual activities with Combs’ girlfriend while Combs himself watched from the sidelines.
Combs faces serious allegations, including leading a sex trafficking operation. Reports indicate he hosted extravagant drug-fueled parties and employed intimidation tactics against women who spoke out about their experiences.
Daniel Phillip, the escort, shared details from his interactions with Combs, stating that he first encountered the rapper in 2012 at a New York City hotel. Phillip said he received “thousands of dollars” for his services and described a scene where Combs, wearing a white robe and a bandana, watched him while engaging in sexual acts.
“I didn’t have to worry because my husband wasn’t gay; he just wanted to watch,” Phillip recounted from their initial meeting.
He mentioned some of Combs’ remarks during that encounter, suggesting a heavy focus on applying baby oil, stating Combs instructed him, “Everything needs to rub more baby oil on each other. You don’t have enough.”
Phillip disclosed that he earned up to $6,000 per session, depicting Combs as often seated in the corner, sometimes prompting him to engage further. He noted the fear he felt about speaking out, citing instances of physical violence he witnessed but was reluctant to report due to concerns over retaliation.
“This was someone with unlimited power,” he said, expressing doubt that going to the police would lead to safety.
Phillip recounted a specific incident where he claims Combs threw a bottle at Ventura, missing but causing damage to a wall due to his anger over her pace. He also described another troubling moment when Combs allegedly dragged Ventura by her hair into a bedroom.
“She was screaming,” Phillip described of that scene.
In a bizarre revelation, he mentioned that Ventura requested him to urinate on her, to which he hesitated. He said, “They stopped me and said I was supposed to go a little and not take a leak to her, so I did it wrong.”
During the first day, prosecutors contended that Combs had recorded sexual conduct for leverage against Ventura and others. Ventura initially met Combs when she was just 19, hoping to break into the music industry. There’s debate among some that she knew what she was getting into and could have chosen to leave at any point.
