Investigation into the murder of a Fox News analyst’s brother in Chicago begins its third year

Political analyst Gianno Caldwell has been seeking answers for nearly three years regarding the murder of his younger brother, Christian Beamon, who was killed in Chicago in 2022.

Christian, just 18 at the time, was one of two victims in a shooting where two others were wounded, as reported by the Chicago Police Department on June 24, 2022. This violence was not aimed at him specifically.

Caldwell expressed his sorrow and frustration, stating, “It’s devastating for my family and me. I never thought we would be at this point three years later. It’s frightening to realize families like mine are experiencing this constantly.”

According to the police, the investigation into Beamon’s murder is ongoing, but no suspects have been apprehended. The shooting occurred on South Vincens Avenue, tragically killing a young woman and injuring another individual.

An unknown shooter reportedly fled the scene in a black sedan, and since that night, updates have been sparse.

The case gained attention recently on Fox’s “America’s Most Wanted,” where host John Walsh, a man driven by his own family’s tragedy, spoke out about the urgent need for justice in Chicago. “The murder rates here are unbelievably high, and that’s not something we can accept,” Walsh remarked.

Despite the challenges, Walsh encouraged hope in finding Beamon’s killer. He noted, “There’s still a chance, even years later, to achieve justice.”

Caldwell shared his admiration for Walsh, feeling honored to stand alongside someone who has dedicated their life to advocating for victims and families affected by violence.

In 2021, Chicago saw a spike in homicides, reaching a 25-year high, but those numbers have gradually declined over the last two years. However, the backdrop of violence continues, leaving many unresolved cases.

Caldwell voiced his concerns about how the city’s policies might contribute to crime. “One murder is too many, and we can’t keep allowing this to happen.” He highlighted issues within the police department, including challenges in retaining personnel.

Inevitably, underlying issues compromise the community’s safety, leading to frustrations voiced by both Caldwell and Walsh. They question the balance between protecting criminals’ rights and ensuring justice for victims

“Too many cases seem to grow cold, as the focus shifts from swift justice to other priorities,” said Caldwell.

Amid the pain of his brother’s loss, Caldwell established the Caldwell Public Safety Institute to aid families impacted by violent crime, emphasizing the need for justice and victim rights.

As the family continues searching for answers, a $15,000 reward is available for information leading to an arrest in connection to Christian Beamon’s death.
