Rapper Tory Lanez Stabbed in Prison While Serving Time for Shooting Megan Thee Stallion

TEHACHAPI, Calif. – Rapper Tory Lanez was taken to the hospital following an incident on Monday in a California prison where he is currently serving time. He is serving a 10-year sentence for shooting hip-hop star Megan Thee Stallion in the foot, according to authorities.

Lanez, whose real name is Daystar Peterson, was reportedly assaulted in a residential unit at the California Correctional Facility in Tehachapi around 7:20 a.m. This information was confirmed by Pedro Calderon Michel, a spokesperson for the state Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation.

While the details of the attack were not clearly defined, several news outlets indicated that Lanez was stabbed.

According to Michel, staff quickly provided Lanez with medical aid and called 911. He was then transported to an outside hospital. The prison’s investigation unit, along with the Kern County District Attorney’s Office, is looking into the incident.

In December 2022, Lanez was convicted on three felony charges related to the incident, including assault with a semi-automatic firearm and the possession of an unregistered firearm that was not loaded at the time.

Megan, who testified under her real name, Megan Pete, stated that after leaving a party at Kylie Jenner’s Hollywood Hills home in July 2020, Lanez fired a gun near her feet while urging her to dance away from the vehicle they were in.

The judge has denied a motion from Lanez’s lawyers for a new trial following his conviction. They haven’t responded publicly to requests for comment.

Recently, Megan accused Lanez of harassment. She had requested protection through a judge in January. The court ordered Lanez to refrain from any further harassment or contact with her until 2030.
