Did a DC outlet accept bribes for favorable coverage?

A notable story emerged recently from media circles, shared by Emily Jashinsky of Unherd. She provided some intriguing insights this week.

Jashinsky highlighted key details regarding X’s Expose, mentioning,

“The Trump administration also informed me that several subscriptions have been canceled, and there are some interesting figures. For instance, they charged $210,000 for just a week’s email advertisement. You can find the pricing sheet.”

Christopher Bedford, the DC correspondent at Blaze Media and a senior political editor, expressed that he’s not shocked by these revelations.

“It’s essentially a continuation of traditional journalism in a new form,” Bedford remarked during “Blaze News Tonight” with Matthew Peterson and Jill Savage.

“The Punch Bowl really acts like an unregistered lobbyist,” he elaborated. “If they excel at their role, companies might eschew hiring lobbyists and instead just subscribe to the newsletter at a premium.”

He pointed out, “Often, they promote various advocacy issues, push their own agenda, and share gossip from Capitol Hill. It can feel familiar, but not necessarily beneficial, and they tend to create unnecessary urgency and false deadlines.”

Furthermore, Bedford commented, “Their reporting seems to be declining. The impact is akin to a game, and for many in Washington, that’s quite troubling.”
