During the New York Yankees’ recent win, a player suffered a troubling leg injury, creating quite a surprise.
In the ninth inning of the Yankees’ game against Seattle on Monday night, Aaron Judge hit a ball, which led to some drama. Oswald Cabrera, who was on third base at the time, thought the hit was deep enough to score, so he sprinted toward home plate. While he did score, he wasn’t able to dodge the catcher’s tag. As Cabrera attempted to avoid the tag, he awkwardly fell, resulting in a serious leg injury.
Cabrera lunged for home but ended up hitting the ground hard, crying out in pain.
His foot was placed in a cast as he was taken off the field in an ambulance.
“He called me afterward, asking, ‘Did I score?'” Judge shared with reporters, demonstrating Cabrera’s competitive spirit.
Details about the severity of Cabrera’s injuries have not been officially released, but he did manage to score despite the unfortunate incident.
The Yankees came out on top against the Mariners, winning 11-5.
