What are the Nets’ next steps after missing out on Cooper Flagg in the draft lottery?

NBA Draft Lottery Results: Nets Fans Disappointed

Monday night’s NBA Draft Lottery delivered a bitter disappointment for Nets fans, as the team’s long season of losing landed them the eighth overall pick.

While many may have anticipated this outcome, it still stings and doesn’t necessarily ease the emotional blow.

Nets general manager Sean Marks, along with team governor Joe Tsai, made the challenging decision to rebuild. They traded Mikal Bridges and secured their own first-round picks for 2025 and 2026. This came at a significant cost, as the team struggled through a tough 26-56 season, which gave them the sixth-best odds for the lottery.

However, the lottery results didn’t yield any rewards. The eighth pick not only dashed hopes for the Cooper Flagg prospects but also complicated trade discussions surrounding Giannis Antetokounmpo while possibly enhancing a trade package for the Spurs.
