There’s a conversation happening around the hefty prices that some flyers are willing to pay to avoid unwanted attention while traveling.
Brazilian models and influencers report spending over $13,000 on flights to steer clear of uncomfortable encounters in economy class.
“In economy, harassment seems to come with the ticket,” shared Ju Isen with Jam Press, discussing her costly choice. “I’d prefer to spend more to feel safe.”
Eisen, who captivates her 2.5 million Instagram followers with her stunning looks, elaborated on her experiences during flights.
She recalled an incident: “Someone tried to talk to me while I was sleeping. I told him to either leave me alone or buy me a drink,” Isen lamented.
She emphasized, “First class is the only place where I don’t have to deal with unwanted conversations or creepy stares.”
Unfortunately for Eisen, her striking presence has drawn attention offline, especially when she travels.
She expressed that her charm has reached a level where flying in economy class isn’t feasible due to a flood of unwanted advances.
She noted, “I think a lot of people would pay just to travel without being hassled. In first class, I can avoid being disturbed by strangers.”
Eisen believes that having a comfortable space during flights can provide her with the safety she desires against persistent suitors.
She shared, “I know some might see this as unfair, but my experiences in economy have led me here.”
Reflecting on her past, she stated, “While I was asleep, people would bother me. It got to a point where I opted for a private cabin to enjoy undisturbed travel.”
She further explained, “In first class, no one invades my personal space with trivial chats or unsettling looks.”
Despite the high costs associated with first-class travel, Eisen is unfazed by criticism regarding her spending. “People often bash the price I pay, but they don’t understand why I feel it’s necessary,” she commented. “That freedom is priceless.”
However, flying isn’t her only tactic for avoiding unwanted attention. Eisen frequently wears a fake engagement ring when she’s out to deter unwanted advances.
She shared, “I was just over the non-stop interruptions, even when I clearly wasn’t interested. Slipping on a simple ring was like hitting a mute button.”
“It’s been effective for years and it looks good enough to keep people at bay,” she concluded.
