Danny Serafini, who is facing charges for his father-in-law’s death, was involved in a relationship with the family’s nanny, according to court documents.

Dan Serafini, a former Major League pitcher, has reportedly been linked to his family’s nannies prior to the arrests tied to a deadly ambush in 2021, involving his in-laws.

New court documents reveal that the 51-year-old allegedly attempted to murder Wendy Wood, Spoore’s wife, in Lake Tahoe, California. This information was highlighted by the Daily Mail.

The nanny, Samantha Scott, 35, is anticipated to testify against Serafini during the upcoming trial.

Serafini and Scott were both arrested after it was claimed that she drove him to his in-laws’ residence on the night of the shooting.

Earlier this year, Scott accepted a plea deal.

Prosecutors suggest that the motive for the murder lies in a long-standing family dispute regarding finances.

Wendy Wood, who initially survived the attack, tragically took her own life in 2023.

Serafini pitched for several teams, including the Minnesota Twins, throughout his seven-year career and is married to the couple’s daughter, Erin Spoore. His wife is set to testify in his defense.
