“What is your plan?” Stephen A. Smith criticizes Democrats for countering Trump without any policy proposals.

Warnings for Democrats Ahead of 2026 Elections

In a recent broadcast, Stephen A. Smith warned that Democrats might face significant losses in the mid-2026 elections, suggesting they haven’t established a solid policy plan. It’s an interesting point, isn’t it?

Smith, who is considered a potential candidate for the 2028 Democratic ticket, received unexpected support from President Trump during a recent town hall, where Trump referred to him as a “good guy.”

The ESPN personality has voiced concerns about the party’s shift to the left, often criticizing notable figures like Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (DN.Y.) and Rep. Jasmine Crockett (D-Texas). His critiques tend to focus on the lack of constructive policy proposals from these representatives.

On his podcast, *The Stephen A. Smith Show*, he pointed out that some women, particularly in Congress, seem to be solely opposing Trump, which raises the question—shouldn’t they be presenting alternatives instead?

Smith questioned Crockett’s approach, saying, “When I hear her say she’s against everything Trump stands for, where’s the legislation? Shouldn’t she, at least, be coming up with some alternative ideas?” It’s a fair concern, I suppose.

He invoked President Obama, saying Democrats need to emulate his ability to bridge divides and attract Republican support. According to Smith, the party must reconsider their authoritative stance to gain any ground.

“If you don’t have an answer, then Trump and his followers will fill that gap for you,” he cautioned.

Smith continued, expressing uncertainty about the strategies of prominent Democrats like AOC and Sanders, saying, “What are you all doing? What’s your strategy?” It seems he genuinely wants to know if they have a coherent plan.

Meanwhile, AOC has teamed up with Senator Bernie Sanders (I-Vt.) for a “Fight Oligarchy” tour, targeting figures like Elon Musk. This effort reflects ongoing frustrations over issues like illegal immigration and government efficiency.

Commentator Ian Miles Chong pointed out that the Democrats lack a solid strategy and largely fail to galvanize public sentiment against Trump. He noted that given the current economic indicators, a major event would be needed for any significant change.

Ultimately, Chong believes internal divisions within the party may hinder their ability to present a unified vision, saying, “Until after the current election cycle, they don’t seem to agree with reality.” A stark observation, perhaps.
