The Fayette County Sheriff’s Office has confirmed the discovery of what they believe to be human remains, possibly those of 1-year-old Carleb Collins, who has been missing. After conducting multiple searches on the family’s property, authorities found remains in the burn piles at their residence, which have now been sent for forensic identification.
The search for the toddler began in December when Wendy Pamela Bailey, 22, had an accident involving her two children, Stephen Bradley Collins, 40, and Riley Collins, age 2.
It has been reported that a two-year-old child died in the crash, while the father, Stephen Collins, was seriously injured. It wasn’t until police investigated further that they realized that the one-year-old, Kahleb Rowan Collins, hadn’t been seen since early September.
Bailey, alongside John Elton Bailey, was arrested back in April, facing charges including domestic violence, abuse of a corpse, and multiple counts of aggravated child abuse.
Sheriff Byron Yerby expressed condolences, stating, “This is a tragic outcome. Our thoughts and prayers are with everyone who loved Kareb. We are dedicated to pursuing justice in this case.”
