Cognitive Decline Remarks on President Biden
Connecticut Senator Chris Murphy expressed to Politico that he believes President Joe Biden has indeed experienced cognitive decline during his tenure in office. “There’s no doubt about that,” he stated when questioned on the issue, adding that the real discussion is whether this decline affects Biden’s capability to function effectively as a leader.
Fox News Digital reached out to Murphy’s office for further comments but did not receive a response before publishing.
In a recent appearance on “The View,” President Biden dismissed the notion that he had suffered notable cognitive decline while in office last year.
Additionally, in a past CNN interview prior to Biden’s withdrawal from the 2024 presidential race, Murphy noted that Biden’s performance in debates raised concerns about whether voters still saw him as the familiar “old Joe Biden.” He mentioned that Biden’s work and legislative achievements during his first term were exceptional, suggesting he still embodies that capable persona.
Murphy reflected on the potential impact had Biden chosen not to run, saying he would have rallied support among Democrats. He remarked on the party’s failure to resonate with voters desiring change, stating, “I mean, isn’t that trivial? We lost. Obviously, looking back, we should have done something different.”
Fox News Digital also attempted to reach Joe and Jill Biden’s offices for their input but did not get a reply in time for this report.
