Trump highlights investments while leaving the Middle East

President Trump returned to Washington from the UAE on Friday, highlighting significant investment deals made during his Middle East trip. He mentioned to reporters that he was eager to meet his new grandson once he got back.

“I’m looking forward to seeing my lovely grandchildren right away, but this trip was a fantastic moment for our country—at least, I believe that,” Trump expressed before departing from Air Force One. His daughter, Tiffany Trump, welcomed a baby just a day prior.

“People are buzzing about it, and the respect shown to our country was just remarkable,” he added.

Investment and business agreements were central to Trump’s trip.

The White House highlighted a $600 billion deal with Saudi Arabia, but specifics on that figure were limited. Additionally, there was mention of an economic agreement with Qatar, projected to exceed $243 billion.

This agreement included a purchase of 160 jets from Boeing by Qatar Airways.

Trump also signed a deal with the United Arab Emirates valued at over $200 billion, which aims to enhance collaboration on artificial intelligence. On Friday, UAE officials unveiled plans for an aluminum factory to be built in the U.S.

“I say I did it, and everyone agrees. But someone will want to cut the ribbon—well, we’ll finish that part long before anyone gets to it,” Trump shared with reporters. “But someone will take credit for this. Remember this, you will.”

White House officials aimed to leverage the trip to improve the president’s economic agenda, especially since his tariff policies have created some uncertainty, by announcing these business commitments.

The visit faced occasional criticism regarding donations from Qatar’s luxury jets, which are to serve as the new Air Force. Both Democratic and Republican members raised ethical and security concerns about the gift, but Trump dismissed their worries, arguing that it would be silly not to accept the planes.
