Rory McIlroy’s Frustration at PGA Championship
Rory McIlroy, the recent Masters champion, showed clear signs of dissatisfaction when play was halted on Saturday at the PGA Championship.
Having recently completed his career grand slam with a victory in his first green jacket at Augusta last month, McIlroy arrived at his first tee on Saturday morning at Quazur Hollow in Charlotte, only to see the game suspended due to severe weather conditions.
As the suspension came at 8:25 am, McIlroy seemed to express his frustration on Twitter with a tweet that suggested he wasn’t pleased. The camera caught him looking down, seemingly with a smile, at that moment.
The 36-year-old golfer from Northern Ireland managed to survive the cut on Friday, finishing one over par after the first two rounds.
Play resumed at 11:43 am ET, with a revised trio of groups introduced to save time. However, the third round was not expected to start until around 2 pm.
McIlroy began his day on the 10th hole alongside Chris Kirk and Xander Schauffele.
