Russian Teacher Sentenced for Sexual Abuse of a Student
A teacher in Russia has received a nine-year prison sentence for sexually abusing an 11-year-old student. Anna Prakshuk, aged 27, is accused of forcing the boy to kiss her and touching her inappropriately. Moreover, she sent explicit photos to the child, asking him to reciprocate.
Prakshuk, previously praised by parents as a “dream teacher,” engaged in this behavior after class. During court proceedings in the Leningrad region, she noted that the boy had also “touched her private parts through his clothes,” which adds a troubling twist to the case.
The situation escalated when the victim’s mother discovered explicit messages and images on her son’s WhatsApp and promptly informed the school principal in Tokusobo, located on the outskirts of St. Petersburg. The mother accused Prakshuk of “systematic flirting and inappropriate contact.”
Once the allegations surfaced, the teacher claimed that the boy had exhibited signs of interest in her months prior, which, well, maybe raises questions about the dynamics between them.
Residents were left stunned by the news, many not believing the accusations against someone they considered a good teacher. A colleague stated that there were no indications of any concerning behavior.
After her arrest in February 2024 and subsequent year in pre-trial detention, Prakshuk was convicted for committing sexual violence against someone under 14. Following her release, she faces an additional year during which she will be barred from teaching.
