Scott Adams Reveals His Prostate Cancer Diagnosis
Scott Adams, the creator of the comic strip “Dilbert,” shared on Monday that he has been diagnosed with prostate cancer, describing his condition as a “nightmare” and mentioning that his life expectancy could be limited to this summer.
The 67-year-old made this revelation while discussing former President Joe Biden’s own cancer diagnosis. “I have the same cancer as Joe Biden, and mine is spreading to my bones,” he said during an episode of “Coffee with Scott Adams.” He added, “My life expectancy is probably this summer. I hope to check out from this domain someday this summer.”
Expressing his frustration with the disease, Adams remarked, “I can’t stand this disease anymore. I can say there’s no good day. So, if you think, ‘Hey Scott, are you going to have a good day?’ then no.”
He continued, noting the constant pain he experiences, “I have the ability to stand up for this day, but I feel pain—always. The pain moves around different parts of my body. I’ve been walking for months using my walker.”
Earlier this year, many newspapers removed “Dilbert” from their publications.
Adams had made previous comments regarding societal issues, such as expressing views on race dynamics that stirred controversy. In a past episode, he said about a poll, “If almost half of all black people aren’t OK with white people — this poll says it’s a hate group for me. It’s a hate group, and I don’t want anything to do with them.”
The “Dilbert” comic strip reflects a satirical take on corporate culture, often portraying the humorous and sometimes frustrating experiences associated with office life.
Since its inception in 1989, Adams has expanded his work on comics, creating variations and exploring different narratives within that universe.
