Former Sports Kansas City Midfielder Gaddy Passes Away

Former Sports Kansas City midfielder Gaddy has died at the age of 31, as announced by his club, Maccabi Haifa FC, on Tuesday.

About two weeks ago, Maccabi Haifa mentioned he was hospitalized briefly due to “complicated medical battles” he had been facing recently.

The last game he played was on March 29 against Maccabi Haifa.

It was noted that the Kansas City athlete posed in a jersey ahead of a match against the Portland Timbers on May 10.

In a social media post, Sports Kansas City expressed their sorrow, stating, “We are deeply saddened by the loss of former Sports KC midfielder Gaddy. Our hearts are with Gadi’s family, friends, teammates, and everyone who knew him.”

During his time with Sporting Kansas City from 2020 to 2023, Gaddy scored 14 goals in 64 MLS matches, which included 48 starts.

MLS also shared their condolences, highlighting that Gaddy was a fan favorite for his impressive performance, his passion for the game, and his kindness toward those around him. “We extend our deepest sympathy to Gaddy’s family, friends, and all who play sports in Kansas City,” they stated.
