Tim Dillon Consents to an Interview with CNN and It Unfolded Just as You Anticipated

Unexpected Humor in CNN Interview

The latest episode of what some might call a Left Wing Struggle Session featured a rather amusing exchange between CNN’s Elle Reeve and comedian Tim Dillon. Right from the start, Reeve informs Dillon that he’s “studying comedy,” but it quickly becomes clear that she’s not exactly armed with a well-thought-out list of questions. Instead, she seems eager for the answers Dillon might provide.

“Is that a certain kind of comedy?” she inquires about Joe Rogan’s style. Dillon tries to clarify various aspects of comedic storytelling, but Reeve exhibits genuine confusion, asking if he, for example, “wakes up?”

She continues with a reference to a local comedian who jokes about not seeing American flags in New York due to all the international flags around. “We live near each other, and I know he’s talking about that little Caribbean grocery store with its plastic streamer,” Reeve adds for emphasis.

Dillon responds, “I’ve never been to that Caribbean grocery store. I don’t live in your neighborhood.” His statement highlights the specific audience targeted by their conversation. If Reeve naively believes that she and her CNN colleagues are somehow outside this reality, it reflects her deep-seated enthusiasm as a true believer in her perspective. There isn’t a liberal media; rather, there exists a distortion of truth between both sides.

Reeve further complicates her argument by asking, “Do you feel you’re part of the new facility being created?” Unfortunately, Dillon is not inclined to support this line of reasoning.

He responds, “I don’t think I’m part of the new facility… especially in specific media circles, after running an unpopular candidate. It’s clear that legacy media is gripping onto that narrative.” He suggests that while it might be a fanciful idea, it doesn’t hold much weight in reality.

In a somewhat sarcastic tone, he continues, “If a few comedians with a podcast can overshadow the backing of multi-billionaires and massive media conglomerates, it highlights how disconnected some narratives are from actual American sentiment.”

Credit to CNN for airing the full interview without edits. The evident missteps of their so-called Brain Trust provide quite the spectacle. If only there were a way to play Reeve’s interviews at double speed; it might just help mitigate the lethargy of her delivery, which feels reminiscent of a patient on heavy medication.
