Rep. Nancy Mace Displays Photos in Congressional Hearing
During a Congressional hearing on Tuesday, South Carolina Republican Representative Nancy Mace revealed nude photos of herself.
This incident followed a clash earlier this year with the state’s Republican Attorney General, who faced criticism from Mace for her stance on not prosecuting sex crimes, particularly regarding recordings taken without consent from Mace’s ex-fiancé. In a hearing addressing privacy violations linked to hidden cameras, Mace stated that such practices endanger personal privacy rights.
“Freedom begins with the ability to close the door. Hidden cameras dismantle that freedom,” Mace asserted during her opening remarks. “The Fourth Amendment is disrespected when our reasonable expectations of privacy are undermined. Today, that violation occurs through secretive devices capturing images of women and girls without their consent.”
“Freedom isn’t merely a concept; it’s the right to exist freely, to dress and undress, and to sleep without the fear of being photographed without permission,” she added. “Our founders penned the concept of liberty on parchment, yet hidden cameras erase that freedom digitally.”
This is an ongoing story and will be updated as more information becomes available.
