LPGA coming back to Mexico for the first time in 8 years in an impressive way

LPGA Action This Week Before US Women’s Open

The LPGA is gearing up for an exciting week, hosting its final event ahead of next week’s US Women’s Open Championship. While Erin Hills is generating a lot of buzz, there’s something noteworthy happening right now.

This week’s LPGA event is taking place in the 2025 Mexican Riviera Maya at Maya Coba, marking the tour’s first visit to Mexico in eight years. Interestingly, this event stands out as the first and only one to feature “Mexico” as its title sponsor.

Notable players in the field include former champions such as Say Young Kim, Carlota Siganda, and Christina Kim, along with Charlie Hal. There’s significant representation from Mexico as well, with eight local golfers participating:

  • Maria Balcazar
  • Maria Fassi
  • Isabella Fiero
  • Fernanda Lila
  • Gabby Lopez
  • Andrea Ostos
  • Carolina Rotzinger
  • Clarisa Temero

Sofia Popov is also competing after celebrating an incredible Mother’s Day victory in Arizona during the Epson Tour.

The event has a long history in El Camare, where it’s held, making it familiar territory for golf fans. Liv Golf also hosted events there in both 2023 and 2024.

You can catch the tournaments on Golf Channel on Thursdays and Fridays from 10 AM to 12 PM, and Saturdays from 2 PM to 5 PM. Thursday and Friday’s action will follow NBC Digital’s Windows, while the final moments on Sunday will be available on CBS and Paramount+.
