Gold Prices Rise Amid Economic Shifts

Additionally, the price per TOLA has escalated to 106,026.10, rising from 105,626.90.

Gold Market Influences: Rising Yields and Federal Commentary
Yields on US Treasury bonds are climbing, notably with the 10-year bonds hovering around 4.477%, showing an increase of about 3 basis points. Real yields in the US also ticked up by 3 basis points to reach 2.117%.
The US Dollar Index (DXY), which measures the performance of the dollar against other major currencies, is currently fluctuating around 0.21%, sitting at 100.17. It hit a daily low of 100.06, but it seems investors are still gravitating towards gold as a safe haven.
Albert Musalem, President of the St. Louis Federal Reserve, noted that the Federal Reserve should prioritize price stability, especially if inflation expectations settle down. He expressed some uncertainty about whether tariffs might produce temporary or long-term repercussions for inflation.
Recently, Moody’s, the credit rating agency, downgraded the US government’s rating from AAA to AA1. They cited a decade of inaction by various administrations and Congress as a factor in the country’s declining financial situation, heightening concerns regarding long-term debt sustainability.
Given these developments, there’s a sense among major banks that gold will likely continue to rise leading into next year. For instance, Goldman Sachs predicts an average gold price of $3,700 an ounce by year-end, potentially reaching $4,000 by mid-2026.
