On Wednesday morning, President Trump shared an edited video that featured an animated golf ball aimed at rocker Bruce Springsteen, tossing it back and forth between the two figures.
The 8-second clip, shared on Truth Social, shows Trump in a white shirt and black pants striking a golf ball. At one point, the animated ball appears to hit Springsteen from behind, causing him to stumble.
The two have recently been trading insults. During Springsteen’s Land Tour of Hope and Dreams in England, he remarked that the United States was “now in the hands of corrupt, incompetent, rebellious regimes.”
He also described the current climate in America as “strange, weird, and dangerous,” mentioning that free speech is used to target those who express dissent.
Trump responded quickly, stating he wasn’t a fan of either Springsteen’s music or his political views. He added, “I didn’t like him, I didn’t like his music or radical left politics. Importantly, he’s not a talented guy.”
On Monday, Trump mentioned the possibility of launching a “major” investigation into whether some celebrities who backed Democratic candidate Kamala Harris had been paid illegally for their endorsements, particularly in relation to a performance fee.
Springsteen had performed at a campaign rally for Harris in Georgia last fall.
This isn’t the first time Trump has released golf-themed videos targeting critics; in September 2017, he posted a clip featuring him knocking down Hillary Clinton with a golf ball during the 2016 election.
