Body of missing Alabama woman found, suspect charged with hitting her with car

A man has been charged with the murder of an Alabama woman, who authorities believe was deliberately struck by a vehicle. The Florence Police Department reported that a body, presumed to be that of missing woman Autumn Page Strickland, was discovered at a residence on Tuesday. The 38-year-old had been reported missing over the weekend.

Logan Rogers, 28, is currently detained at the Lauderdale County Jail without bail while he awaits a court appearance. He was arrested at his home on Tuesday. Initially charged with attempted murder, his charge was elevated to murder following the recovery of Strickland’s remains. Strickland was last seen on May 16, and officials have indicated that she may have been in situations that compromised her judgment.

The Florence Police Colonel, Jason Fort, mentioned that artifacts related to the case will be analyzed at a forensic lab for identification purposes. According to reports, Rogers allegedly hit Strickland with his vehicle; he even returned to the scene about half an hour later, picked up her body, and attempted to dispose of it by setting it on fire in a burn barrel at his property.

Speculation remains as to the motivations behind these actions, and the investigation continues. Strickland’s tragic case has drawn attention, highlighting the disturbing incidents surrounding her disappearance.
