Jim Irsay’s eldest daughter anticipated to lead the Colts

Plans are underway regarding the future of the Colts following the recent passing of Jim Irsay.

His daughter, Kari Irsay Gordon, is anticipated to take over leadership of the team. This shift comes after her father’s death on Wednesday, as reported by local sources.

While Kari will be significantly involved, particularly with the football operations, she will share ownership with her sisters, Casey Voyt and Karen Jackson. Reports indicate that Kari is primarily focused on the athletic side of the franchise.

Casey and Karen were designated as vice-chair/owners back in 2012.

Kari had previously made her mark in the Colts’ marketing department. In 2008, she was elevated to vice president of the organization.

During challenging times in 2014, when her father faced legal issues, Kari temporarily stepped in as chair of the franchise.

Over the years, she has served on various NFL committees, significantly contributing to the team’s management and social media strategies.

As the third generation in her family to assume control of the Colts, Kari follows in the footsteps of her father, who inherited the team in 1997 after the death of his father, Bob, who had owned it since 1971.

Jim Irsay, 65, passed away peacefully on Wednesday afternoon during sleep, though details surrounding his death remain unclear.

The family expressed their sorrow, highlighting Jim’s generosity, community spirit, deep familial love, and fervid devotion to the Indianapolis Colts.
