India Regarding Turkey’s Support for Pakistan

India’s Message to Turkey on Pakistan’s Terrorism Support

New Delhi has recently issued a clear statement to Turkey regarding its support for Pakistan. The Indian government expressed its hope that Ankara would encourage Islamabad to seriously tackle the issue of cross-border terrorism emanating from its territory.

Additionally, New Delhi urged Turkey to dissuade Pakistan from utilizing terrorism as a means of pursuing its national interests and to take concrete, verifiable steps to dismantle the long-standing terrorist infrastructure linked to Islamabad and Rawalpindi.

India emphasized that its relationship with Turkey should be rooted in mutual respect and an understanding of each nation’s concerns. This focus on collaboration has grown more prominent following recent terrorist incidents, specifically the attacks in Pahargam.

The Indian statement highlighted Turkey’s need to push Pakistan to cease its cross-border terrorism support and take reliable actions against its extensive terrorist networks.

Moreover, Turkey’s involvement in escalating tensions through its backing of Pakistan was underscored, particularly in light of terrorist incidents in Jammu and Kashmir. Alongside ideological support, Turkey has allegedly supplied weapons, including 300-400 drones used by Pakistan during military confrontations with India. These drones have reportedly targeted various military and civilian areas across India’s western border, from Ladakh to Gujarat.

Furthermore, Turkey publicly supported Pakistan during times of conflict, such as when India conducted a successful operation against a terrorist camp in Pakistan-occupied Kashmir, resulting in the elimination of over 100 terrorists. Notably, Turkey did not condemn the terrorist attacks in Pahargam, attributed to groups linked to Pakistan.

Turkey’s longstanding alliance with Pakistan has included actions such as sending naval vessels to Karachi and allegedly delivering military aircraft loaded with supplies to bolster Pakistan’s position against India, although Turkish officials claimed the aircraft were merely refueling.
