Influencer Kindra Hall Shares Experience of Attack in NYC

Author and influencer Kindra Hall recently recounted an alarming experience in New York City, where she was attacked while walking. Hall expressed frustration over the challenges faced when trying to report the incident, particularly regarding the police response.

“I punched my head to a stranger passing by,” Hall said, sharing footage of the encounter and its aftermath on social media. “I wasn’t going to post this as a reel, but there are some important stories I didn’t share.”

In the video, Hall can be seen walking down the sidewalk when a man approaches her from the opposite direction and appears to strike her in the head. She fell against a nearby fence, visibly shaken but quickly managed to get back up.

Afterward, the video transitions to Hall’s own recording, where she boldly confronts the man, even threatening him verbally. Notably, a clip shows the man being restrained by New York City Police Department officers.

However, Hall raised concerns about the police response time, stating it took about 30 minutes for them to arrive. When they did show up, she felt they didn’t take the situation seriously enough. “I wasn’t on the phone, I wasn’t distracted. I wasn’t safe,” she explained in her Instagram post.

She recalled noting the man when she first saw him, but it wasn’t until a fleeting moment that she realized something was wrong. “It took the police about 30 minutes to arrive, and they acted like it wasn’t a big deal,” Hall noted, echoing her frustration.

Reflecting on her emotions, she said, “I remember saying, ‘I’m not bleeding, so is it okay to punch my head?'” Ultimately, the police only took her seriously after she refused to back down from the situation.

Hall speculated that perhaps the officers wanted her to give up. She mentioned that the officers did not retrieve any security footage of the attack, and only later did she and her husband manage to obtain the video from a nearby nail salon.

When Hall pointed out the camera to the officers, they indicated that only the salon owner could provide access to it, which she was able to resolve quickly.

The influencer expressed gratitude for her own safety, stating, “I’m thankful it wasn’t worse for me, and I hope that the man receives the help he clearly needs.” She encouraged her followers to remain vigilant and take care of themselves, emphasizing that if someone faces a similar situation, they shouldn’t be persuaded to simply let it go. “The problem is very large and layered, but pretending you can’t do anything is not the solution,” she concluded.
