A.I. Is Set to Bring an End to Hollywood

Levi’s Ambitions in Texas

Hollywood star Zachary Levi is making some bold moves as he focuses on a significant vision in Texas while the film industry wrestles with challenges in California.

Amid the ongoing exodus of film and television production from California, Levi aims to establish a new hub in Austin. His initiative, known as Wyldwood Studios, comes at a time when the appeal of locations outside Hollywood is increasing. Texas is actively investing in enhancing its film facilities, and Levi is right on the frontline to capitalize on this shift.

Levi has been vocal about his views, especially regarding the Covid vaccine, which hasn’t been well-received by many in the Hollywood circle, particularly those on the left. His support for former President Donald Trump further complicated his relationships in the industry. “I’m aware there are those who may not want to collaborate with me anymore because of my opinions,” he acknowledged, albeit he couldn’t point to specific individuals. He reflected candidly, stating, “I didn’t make these choices lightly.”

His desire to create a film venture comes from a belief that the industry is faltering. “Charlie Chaplin and others recognized long ago that Hollywood needed reform,” he noted. He argued, “The industry appears to be crumbling around us. To thrive, we need spaces where artists can create meaningful, human-centered content.” He expressed concerns that AI is deteriorating the traditional filmmaking process and mused about why Los Angeles resembles Detroit’s entertainment scene now.

Having already relocated to Texas, Levi is not alone; he’s joined by notable figures like Joe Rogan and Woody Harrelson. He is optimistic about the opportunities awaiting his studio projects outside of California. “There are those who may want to collaborate with me now, particularly from the political spectrum seeking diversity in voices,” he mentioned.

Although he admits his stance has been perceived as a risk, he feels supported by many within the industry. He relayed, “I’ve received acknowledgment from several people grateful for my stance, though I won’t disclose names.”

Levi is currently in the process of raising $40 million to launch his vision. His plans include constructing two amphitheaters, boutique hotels, cabins, and farm-to-table dining options on a 20,000-square-foot soundstage located on a 76-acre property along the Colorado River.
