Danica Patrick Reflects on Painful Breakup with Aaron Rodgers

Danica Patrick shared that her toughest experience has been her breakup with Aaron Rodgers in 2020. She discussed this on “The Sage Steele Show,” describing their relationship as “emotionally abusive.”

“Breaking up with Aaron in 2020 felt sudden,” Patrick recounted when asked about her most painful moment. “Living with someone makes them part of your whole life, and it was difficult because the relationship was, well, not healthy.” She felt like nothing could be done about the situation.

Patrick expressed that the relationship had a significant impact on her. “People might not imagine that I struggled with self-confidence or even basic beliefs about myself. Everything felt shattered. He definitely left a mark.” Yet, she acknowledged that the experience ultimately brought her valuable insight about self-care. “It taught me the importance of showing up for myself.”

She reflected on her feelings of loneliness during the relationship, noting, “I was so far from who I really am.” Despite this, she said she doesn’t feel shame or regret about the breakup.

Following their split after two years of dating—announced in July 2020—Rodgers shifted his focus towards his future in football. He later began dating actress Shailene Woodley, whom he met during the pandemic.

The couple got engaged in February 2021 but reportedly split in April 2022. Recently, Rodgers, who mentioned a new relationship with a woman named Britanni, was spotted wearing what appeared to be a wedding ring.

In another development, Patrick appears to have a new romance as she shared a series of kiss photos from the Burning Man Festival. She and her previous boyfriend, Carter Comstock, parted ways around March 2022, almost a year after they started dating.
