Trump Administration Lets Go of Certain NSC Employees

Changes in the National Security Council

The Trump administration has recently dismissed several members from the National Security Council (NSC).

Reportedly, the staff members let go included both long-term career officials and political appointees.

According to The Washington Post, various officials within the NSC faced sudden job losses as part of the Trump administration’s strategy to significantly streamline its coordination efforts.

Those who spoke about the dismissals did so under anonymity due to the sensitive nature of human resources matters. A spokesperson for the White House did not respond to inquiries.

This shake-up occurred under President Trump’s new national security adviser, Marco Rubio, who has been highlighted as a significant figure following the ousting of his predecessor, Michael Waltz, due to several mistakes.

One White House official mentioned to Axios, “The NSC is the ultimate deep state. It’s Marco vs. deep state. We are hindering the deep state.”

Fox News noted that the restructuring includes relocating National Security Adviser Andy Barker to work with Vice President J.D. Vance, while Robert Gabriel shifts roles to become the deputy national security adviser.

Officials involved have indicated that the changes spearheaded by Trump and Rubio aim to confront what they refer to as Washington’s “deep state.” The sentiment expressed was clear: “The NSC is the ultimate deep state. It’s Marco vs. deep state. We are hindering deep state.”

There’s a clear intention here—Trump is attempting to, as some say, “drain the swamp.”
