Aaron Rodgers Reflects on Future Team Decisions
Aaron Rodgers is still weighing his options for the 2025 season—whether that means signing with a new team or stepping away from football entirely. Over the weekend, he made it clear that the New Orleans Saints are not on his list.
With Derek Carr now retired due to a shoulder injury, the Saints might be looking for a quarterback. Their choices seem to include Tyler Shaw, Spencer Rutler, or perhaps someone else entirely.
In a recent episode of the “YNK Podcast,” while in Texas, fans asked Rodgers about the possibility of joining the Saints. He responded immediately, saying, “No, that’s the answer. I played there a few times, but no, the answer is no. I’m too old. I don’t want to live in Louisiana. Sorry.”
It appears that all signs point to Rodgers leaning toward the Pittsburgh Steelers, though nothing is finalized yet.
During the podcast, he was also queried about possibly playing for the Chicago Bears. His response contained a hint about his interest in Pittsburgh. He stated, “No, but I think there are teams that may play in Chicago on road trips this year. I don’t know, I don’t really know. I checked it out. But I love Chicago. They love me more than I love them. It was a great relationship. All one direction.”
The Steelers are scheduled to face the Bears on November 23rd. It remains to be seen what path Rodgers will ultimately choose as he considers his future.
