Significant ‘Freedom Flyover’ at Florida airshow features almost all Air Force fighter and bomber aircraft

At the Florida Air Show on Saturday, a stunning showcase of nearly the entire fleet of U.S. Air Force fighter and bomber jets took to the skies.

The event, dubbed the “Freedom Flyover,” was part of the Hyundai Air and Sea Show in Miami Beach, attracting thousands eager to commemorate the Memorial Day weekend. Attendees called it “one unstoppable force.”

The historic aerial display featured a B-2 stealth bomber leading the formation. Following it were impressive aircraft like the B-1B Lancer, B-52H Stratofortress, F-22 Raptor, F-15C Eagle, F-16C Fighting Falcon, and the A-10 Thunderbolt II, as noted by the Air Force Global Strike Command.

Interestingly, the only notable absences were the B-31 Raider and the F-35A Lightning II, along with the AC-130J Ghostrider, another aircraft in the Air Force’s arsenal.

During the show, for the first time, a new Tri-bomber fighter formation captivated the audience, with military officials noting its significance.

“This was more than just an airshow. It was a powerful tribute to those who celebrate all the things and strength that protects our country every day!” stated AFGSC in a social media update.

Video footage captured the moment when seven aircraft flew in a perfect formation, thrilling the crowd below.

Additional clips shared by a Staff Sergeant provided an intimate view of the planes approaching from the elevated roadway, showcasing the precision of the formation.

Officials highlighted that the aircraft were flown by a mix of Air Force Reserves, Air National Guard pilots, emphasizing the collaborative spirit across various Air Force components.
