South Carolina Nightclub Linked to Los Zetas Cartel Raided, 72 Undocumented Immigrants Detained

DHS Conducts Major Raids in Charleston Nightclub Operation

The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) has announced the outcome of its recent operation in Charleston, South Carolina, resulting in the arrest of 72 individuals suspected of being in the country illegally. Reports indicate that a nightclub linked to this operation is allegedly controlled by members of the Los Zetas Cartel, which has been classified as a foreign terrorist organization by the U.S. State Department.

Information reaching the Immigration Customs Enforcement (ICE) Homeland Security Investigation team highlighted the “Alamo” nightclub in Charleston. It’s been suggested that a suspected member of the Los Zetas’ Cartel del Noreste faction may have been utilizing the club for human trafficking activities. The investigation also points to the presence of weapons within the establishment. In a social media update, DHS officials remarked, “We’re bringing ice to the party.”

As detailed in a DHS statement, the weekend operation by HSI led to the apprehension of 72 illegal immigrants and the detention of six minors.

“Every day, the dedicated personnel at ICE collaborate with local law enforcement to enhance community safety across America. These recent efforts in Charleston have resulted in over 70 arrests,” the statement read. “Under the leadership of President Trump and Secretary Noem, those evading law enforcement are making their presence known.”

Among those arrested was Sergio Joel Gallo Baka, a fugitive from Honduras. Authorities noted that he had an active Interpol red notice for murder charges stemming from his home country.

During the operation on June 1, agents reported seizing drugs, firearms, and cash, with local law enforcement actively participating.
