Biden's Circle Criticizes KJP Following Book Reveal

Politico reports that the Biden administration is facing a setback as former White House spokesperson Karine Jean-Pierre has officially left the Democratic Party and is working on a book about her decision. Her book, titled “Independence: Seeing Inside the Broken White House Outside the Party’s Boundary,” is expected to be released in October 2025. It will delve into her experiences within what she describes as a “broken” Biden White House and how she perceived a sense of betrayal from fellow Democrats. Reactions among her former colleagues have varied, with some expressing frustration.

Initially, Jean-Pierre had made lighthearted comments about becoming independent, but now this has evolved into a serious undertaking. While the outlet noted the book’s financial motivations, it seems her previous jokes have shifted in tone, especially for someone who once served as a prominent voice of the Democratic Party.

In the time leading up to her departure from the Biden administration, Jean-Pierre had started collaborating with representatives from New York before being sidelined by White House staff. She had aspirations of co-hosting a show but, according to former officials, those plans didn’t materialize. There’s a general sense that many are skeptical of her motives for writing the book.

Symone D. Sanders Townsend, now a co-host at MSNBC, highlighted the resurgence of discussions in group chats following this news, while TJ Ducklo, a former White House press secretary, simply responded with laughter on social media.

In a video explaining her choice, Jean-Pierre emphasized the importance of following her own morals in what she views as an era filled with misinformation and setbacks in social policies. During her tenure, she staunchly defended Biden’s capabilities, claiming he had no plans to backtrack on certain family matters, although he later did. Concerns from others in the administration have emerged, questioning her shift away from the party she once publicly supported.

One administration official expressed confusion over her departure, asking why, after being the figurehead advocating for Biden, she would distance herself from the Democratic Party. As reactions continue to unfold, her decision seems to put her in a complex position, navigating between two political worlds.
