Maria Denisa Paun discovered murdered and beheaded in a suitcase in Tuscany, Italy

Missing Woman Found Decapitated in Tuscany

The remains of a woman who went missing have been discovered, with her body beheaded and hidden inside a suitcase in a well-known tourist area.

Maria Denisa Pauun, a 30-year-old Romanian, disappeared from Prato, Tuscany on May 15th. Reports indicate her body was located on Wednesday near an abandoned farmhouse in Montecatini Term, roughly 25 miles west of Florence.

A local security guard has confessed to the murder, admitting to killing Denisa, decapitating her, and then setting fire to her head with gasoline, as reported by Italian media.

Denisa, who was working as an escort, had allegedly threatened to inform the man’s wife if he didn’t pay her, which might have provoked the attack.

Vasile Frumuzache, 32, also a Romanian, is facing charges related to murder and concealing a body, according to prosecutors.

Frumuzache, a married father, told police he had met Denisa through a dating app and visited her at a hotel on the night she was killed. They reportedly engaged in sexual activity, during which she threatened to contact his wife unless he handed over approximately $11,450.

In his statement, Frumuzache claimed, “She was threatening me, so I killed her,” explaining that he felt compelled to act when she threatened to reach out to his wife after revealing his occupation.

Following the assault, he allegedly strangled Denisa, dismembered her, placed her remains in a garbage bag, and then stuffed that bag into a suitcase before driving to a secluded farmhouse, according to reports.

Security footage from the hotel captured Frumuzache arriving on the night of May 15th at around 10:50 PM with a black bag. Just two hours later, he is seen leaving with a white suitcase that belonged to Denisa.

Prosecutors have confirmed that her body was found inside that suitcase. Investigators tracked Frumuzache’s movements using GPS data from his car, leading them to the abandoned farmhouse where Denisa’s decapitated body was discovered.

This incident has drawn significant attention in Italy, with speculation surrounding potential links to criminal organizations after Denisa reportedly traveled from Rome to Tuscany last month.
