Victor Davis Hanson Indicates DEI Aspect in Jewish Hate Crime Involving Illegal Immigrant

Hanson Critiques Response to Anti-Semitic Attacks

Victor Davis Hanson, a senior fellow at the Hoover Institution, appeared on Fox Business recently, criticizing what he termed a morally inverted reaction to recent anti-Semitic incidents.

The perpetrator of one such attack was an illegal immigrant from Egypt. Federal authorities have arrested Mohamed Sabri Soliman, who has been in the U.S. under visas during the Biden administration.

Hanson expressed concern about the public’s response, suggesting that if the roles were reversed—if a Muslim immigrant had committed the act against a white individual—there would likely be wider outrage and potential deportation of the entire family. “There’s a double standard at play,” he remarked.

He also condemned the defendant’s lawyers for targeting Jewish individuals during protests against Israel and for drawing parallels between Trump-era immigration policies and Nazi Germany. “It’s tragically ironic,” he noted, referencing historical instances of violence against Jews and the American response to them.

Hanson pointed out that the attacker’s family had overstayed their visas and had been living illegally in the U.S. He suggested that if evidence emerges indicating the family was aware of the suspect’s extremist views, deportation might be considered.

“If the investigation shows they had knowledge of his actions, I think that could lead to consequences,” he said, commenting on the situation’s gravity.

On a related note, Judge Gordon Gallagher, appointed by Biden, recently halted the deportation of Soliman’s family, which had been pushed by the Trump administration. Following this, immigration officials apprehended Soliman’s wife and their five children.
