Leftists Burn U.S. Flags as Mexican Flags Fly During Riots in L.A.

On Friday, protests against ICE escalated in Los Angeles, resulting in anti-American demonstrations, including the burning of flags.

A video surfaced showing a man spitting out a fiery American flag that had been tossed onto the ground, as nearby protesters cheered and shouted. Soon after, another flag was dropped, igniting on the pavement.

Protesters shouted slogans like “Fuck Trump!” and “Fuck the system!” along with “It’s right to rebel!” These moments were captured in the footage.

According to reports, these confrontations arose as leftist demonstrators attempted to interfere with ICE’s efforts to sweep for undocumented immigrants in the city.

Other videos showed protesters blocking the streets, with one individual displaying a Mexican flag while the group encircled a burning American flag.

One protester remarked that the flag he was holding represented Mexico and expressed his loyalty to it, indicating he didn’t feel represented by the American flag.

In a social media post, Congressman Doug LaMalfa from California commented on the unrest, stating, “While American flags, cars, and businesses are set ablaze, mobs disrupt legitimate enforcement efforts.”

He further expressed concern, describing the scene as anything but a peaceful protest, but rather a situation resembling an invasion. He noted that the National Guard was called in on Trump’s direct orders, not at the request of California officials, who he claimed failed to act adequately as events spiraled out of control. LaMalfa criticized politicians for prioritizing media headlines over their duties, highlighting past calls from them for resistance against ICE’s actions.

He urged immediate arrests of those causing the chaos and suggested that elected officials who encourage such behavior should face consequences. He expressed his support for law enforcement agencies on the ground while criticizing California leadership for evading responsibility during the incidents.

Additional videos revealed more protesters raising the Mexican flag while the American flag burned in front of them.

Reports also indicated that among those arrested during the ICE sweep in Los Angeles were individuals with significant criminal histories.

One individual identified was Lionel Sanchez Laguna from Mexico, who has a lengthy criminal record that includes multiple offenses and prison sentences related to firearm use and other crimes.

Representatives from the Trump administration indicated that the violent demonstrations were indicative of a broader issue, calling it an aggression that should not be overlooked by the U.S.

The Department of Homeland Security claimed they aimed to restore order amid the chaos witnessed during the protests.
