Former college basketball star Cameron Woodall dies at 26 following ATV accident

A Mississippi college basketball player tragically passed away in an ATV accident over the weekend.

Cameron Woodall, who had previously won a state championship at Raymond High School and was a prominent player at Tougaloo University, lost control of his ATV, according to Hinds County Coroner Jeremiah Howard.

The accident took place late Saturday night in Raymond, Mississippi, around 11:25 PM, when Woodall was riding alongside another individual on a second ATV.

“It’s incredibly sad to report Cameron’s passing,” remarked a representative from his community. “Known for his vibrant personality and competitive spirit on the court, he also had a warm heart that resonated with everyone at Tougaloo. His impact went far beyond basketball; he was a friend and brother to many. Our thoughts are with his family, friends, and teammates.”

The Hinds County Sheriff’s Office is currently investigating the incident.

“My thoughts are with the family, friends, and the entire community of Raymond,” stated Hinds County Sheriff Tyree Jones.
