FBI Investigates Funding Behind ICE Protests in Los Angeles
FBI Director Kash Patel announced on Monday that the agency is looking into the funding sources related to recent anti-immigration protests involving customs enforcement (ICE) in Los Angeles.
“The FBI is examining all the financial ties that have led to these riots,” Patel stated in his comments.
When discussing potential foreign influences during the John Solomon Reports podcast, Republican Rep. Andy Biggs from Arizona expressed his firm belief in such influences. “I have no doubts in my heart,” he said.
Biggs pointed to the presence of external influences, mentioning the Mexican flag and references to Mexico’s President, Andrés Manuel López Obrador. “These people, they hate this country and want to transform it into a third-world nightmare,” he added.
Former FBI Executive Assistant Director Crispiehota suggested that the agency is probably investigating these connections quite thoroughly. “They start looking for links between the financial and logistical networks that support these actions,” he noted, hinting at a more aggressive approach from the FBI to disrupt funding and logistics.
The Party for Socialism and Liberation (PSL), a socialist organization tied to Chinese Communist billionaire Neville Roy Singham, has previously been associated with anti-ICE protests.
State financial records reveal that progressive activist groups central to the anti-ICE protests have received both California state and federal grants.
The Human Immigration Rights coalition (Chirla) secured almost $34 million in government grants, mostly from California, for the fiscal year ending June 2023.
Chirla staged one of its initial rallies in Los Angeles earlier in June, while activists are preparing for a nationwide protest scheduled for June 14th.
In a statement regarding the National Guard’s deployment in Los Angeles, President Donald Trump emphasized: “Trump wants people in Los Angeles to believe they are harming their communities. That’s incorrect. The reality is that they’re peacefully protesting against the misuse of power by their administration and the wrongful abduction of neighbors by ICE.” He continued, “It’s not about safety but about stifling opposition, which is a clear abuse of power aimed at instilling fear and suppressing dissent.”
Additionally, a military parade is set for June 14th to commemorate the 250th anniversary of the U.S. Army.
