Teen Found Dead in Miami High-Rise Stabbing
Recent reports indicate that a teenager was fatally stabbed in a high-rise in Miami over the weekend. The victim has been identified as 17-year-old Dominic Ferrell. Allegedly, he was attacked while sleeping, as police reported.
It appears the concierge at the apartment called Ferrell before the incident to inform him that someone wanted to see him. The individual in the lobby is considered a suspect in the case.
Authorities reviewed security footage that showed the suspect running across a nearby construction site. Following this, SWAT teams searched the building and discovered the suspect deceased.
The man has been identified as 26-year-old Kyrill R. Kehl. According to Miami Police officer Michael Vega, Kehl likely fell or jumped from a height of 100 to 200 feet, leading to his death.
“The suspect was aware that some residents were in the lobby moments before heading to the elevator. He approached a few floors, knocked on doors, and attempted to enter,” Vega elaborated.
The officer indicated that Kehl eventually reached the 34th floor, entered Ferrell’s apartment without being stopped, and attacked the sleeping teenager.
Interestingly, another individual was with Ferrell at the time of the incident. Police noted that Ferrell and Kehl did not know each other. Kehl had only recently arrived in South Florida from Arizona.
“There might be underlying mental health issues, but we won’t have clarity until we receive the toxicology results,” Vega mentioned.
“They were complete strangers. It’s crucial to keep your doors locked and avoid opening them to unfamiliar faces,” the officer warned.
Residents expressed their worries after observing police fill the apartment lobby. One witness, Evan Cohen, remarked, “I just saw someone in the building with ‘crime scene’ on their shirts and wanted to understand what was happening. It’s concerning.”
Another resident, Roberto Hernandez, shared, “I was out for a morning walk and asked what was going on. It’s a tragedy—a significant tragedy.”
