Deion Sanders in Colorado is said to be facing an undisclosed health concern.

Colorado’s summer football camp kicked off last week, but head coach Deion Sanders was not present with the team. The 57-year-old coach is reportedly facing some health challenges and is currently in Texas, managing his real estate interests.

Dion Jr., Sanders’ oldest son, mentioned during a live stream that he isn’t certain when his father will return to Colorado. He stated, “I’ll wait until my dad leaves. I’ll go when he leaves. Until then, I’ll sit here with him.” It seems that, at least for now, family is the priority.

In his comments, Deion Jr. reassured fans that his father “feels good,” despite the circumstances. However, there has been no official comment from the University of Colorado regarding Sanders’ health.

Back in May, Sanders made headlines when he revealed that he had lost 14 pounds and described his health struggles as being “on a completely different level.” It’s concerning but it’s also, well, part of life, I guess. Health can be such a tricky thing.

In past years, Sanders has dealt with serious health issues. He underwent surgery in 2021 that led to the amputation of two toes on his left leg due to a blood clot from a previous surgery. Last year, he had surgery to address blood clots in both feet. It’s a lot, and I can only imagine how challenging that must be.

Despite these difficulties, Sanders led Colorado to a 9-4 record in his second season as head coach. The Colorado Buffaloes are scheduled to start their 2025 season on August 29 against Georgia Tech.
