Last month, Kardashian faced the spotlight again due to a high-profile Paris trial involving some men charged with robbing her in 2016. During her testimony on May 13th, she recounted a harrowing experience of being held at gunpoint while an intruder took away millions in jewelry.
She recounted her fears vividly, thinking it might be the end for her. “I was convinced that was the moment I’d be harmed,” she explained, recalling her desperate plea to the robber about her baby.
Her mother, Kris Jenner, accompanied her, and together they provided testimony against a group dubbed the “grandpa robbery” due to their ages. Over 17 suspects were identified, based on DNA discovered on a plastic band tied to Kardashian during the incident. The investigation took years, eventually leading to 12 individuals being tried in 2021.
The trial saw ten defendants face charges, and by May 23, eight were found guilty, although two were acquitted. Interestingly, the court didn’t impose additional prison time due to the defendants’ ages and health issues, which played a significant role in the sentencing outcome.
The sentences discussed ranged from three to eight years, but no one ended up serving time in prison; they remained free during their pretrial detention. Kardashian, who was not present for the verdict, later expressed gratitude towards the French authorities for their efforts in pursuing justice. She shared how the robbery was a traumatic experience that had a lasting effect on her and her family, and she emphasized her hope for healing.
