Josh Duhamel Reflects on Balancing Family Life with Hollywood
Los Angeles – Josh Duhamel recently shared that juggling his Hollywood career with family life feels quite “stricken and more demanding.” In a conversation with Fox News Digital, he opened up about managing his duties as an actor and director while also launching a new company, Gatlin. Despite the challenges, he emphasizes that being a father and husband takes precedence in his life.
“I have to constantly remind myself how vital it is to be a good husband and a good father,” Duhamel stated. “It’s all about balance, but I would say it’s a good life overall.”
Duhamel lives in northwestern Minnesota with his wife, Audra, and their one-year-old son, Shepherd, approximately 40 minutes from the nearest town, in what he refers to as the “Apocalypse Cabin.” During the interview, he praised his wife for her straightforwardness, mentioning how refreshing it is that she avoids getting caught up in trivial matters.
“I have to constantly remember how important it is to be a good husband and a good father; that’s really the most important thing I do,” Duhamel added.
He described Audra as a grounded individual, noting her practical thinking and ability to connect with their children. “She’s just amazing with them. She’s a great wife, and you know, she really doesn’t get lost in all the nonsense,” he explained.
Over the past 15 years, Duhamel has bought land in Minnesota, building rustic cabins and expanding his property. Recently, he discussed his partnership with the Bobcat Company, which manufactures tools and equipment, aimed at efficiently transforming his land.
As part of Bobcat’s 2025 “Great Job” campaign, Duhamel has been recognizing firefighters who bravely tackled the Los Angeles wildfires earlier this year. He expressed pride in joining this initiative and highlighted the significance of a strong community of firefighters.
He shared a touching moment where he surprised firefighters at a Bobcat UTV fire station with lunch and a $20,000 donation. “I think we all can recognize how essential a solid fire community is. These guys are truly the best—they have to be,” he remarked.
Duhamel acknowledged the importance of the tools provided by Bobcat for those battling fires, emphasizing their need for effective equipment to handle various tasks during and after firefighting operations.
“I really look for any chance I can get to back them. Bobcats have made it possible for me to contribute to both small towns and bigger cities like Los Angeles,” he concluded. “So when I learned about this initiative, I thought, ‘What an incredible idea!’ This equipment is genuinely important.”
