Colorado Buffaloes head coach Dion Sanders recently addressed health concerns after reports about his hospitalization for unspecified matters circulated. He took to social media to express gratitude for the supportive thoughts and prayers he received, which he truly appreciated.
“I’m incredibly blessed to receive such an outpouring of wishes and prayers. Thank you!” he shared on X. He also mentioned that he looked forward to returning to Colorado and rejoining the staff and team. “I’ll be back in Boulder soon, updating everything. Until then, I’m here with a little one,” he added.
Cleveland Browns quarterback Chedur Sanders, when asked about his father’s health during Tuesday training, didn’t provide any details. However, Deion Sanders Jr. assured USA TODAY that his father “feels good.”
In May, Sanders had revealed on former NFL cornerback Asante Samuel’s podcast that he had lost 14 pounds and was dealing with health issues that were “on a completely different level.” This has raised some eyebrows, especially considering the health challenges Colorado’s coaching staff has faced in recent years. In 2021, he underwent amputation of two toes on his left leg because of a blood clot from prior surgery, and in 2023, he had another surgery to alleviate blood clots in both feet.
Sanders finished his second season as head coach with the Buffaloes achieving a 9-4 record in 2024. They are set to kick off the 2025 season on August 29th against Georgia Tech at home.
