UOB Visa Infinite Metal card to remove unlimited lounge access starting June 2026

Changes to UOB Visa Infinite Metal Card Lounge Access

Beginning June 1, 2026, UOB’s Visa Infinite Metal Card will replace its unlimited airport lounge access with a limit of 12 visits annually.

This development is, well, not great for those cardholders who relied on that unlimited lounge perk. It’s a pretty significant change to the card’s value, especially for frequent travelers.

Lounge Access Limited to 12 Visits

For many users of the UOB VI Metal Card, the standout benefit was the endless access to Dragon Pass lounges. This perk was one of the rare offerings in Singapore that allowed both cardholders and a guest to access the lounges without restrictions. However, that’s about to change.

As of June 1, 2026, cardholders will only get 12 free lounge visits per year, and these can be shared with guests.

“On June 1, 2026, the UOB Visa Infinite Metal Card Airport Lounge Access Perk will be revised. Card members will receive 12 free lounge passes over the membership year, replacing current unlimited access.”

This basically means that solo travelers can enjoy those 12 visits, but if they bring guests, it effectively divides the access, allowing for only six visits total.

In case anyone is wondering, if you need more than 12 visits, additional charges will be around $28 USD (about S$36) per extra visit. Ouch.

Current cardholders will still enjoy unlimited lounge access until May 31, 2026. After that, the 12 free visits will automatically reflect in the Airport Companion App.

And just a heads-up: if you don’t use all 12 visits within the year, they won’t carry over. Each year begins anew, so make sure to use them!

What About Groups and Families?

Under the new rules, there are some perks for families and groups. Presently, cardholders can take one guest with them per visit. Additional guests incur extra fees.

However, starting June 1, 2026, you can use the 12 free visits however you like. So, if a family of four wants to hit the lounge three times a year, they could use up all 12 visits without any extra charges. That’s a shift from the current rules, which could be quite beneficial.

Miles and Other Benefits

As of now, there haven’t been any announced changes to how miles are earned with the UOB Metal Card.

  • 1.4 MPD for local spending
  • 2.4 MPD abroad

While these rates are fairly standard in today’s card market—some entry-level cards offer even better options—the lack of transfer fees to major frequent flyer programs is still a significant advantage for UOB VI cardholders.

The UOB VI card also comes with additional offerings, such as:

  • 25,000 miles on membership renewals or 40,000 miles for spending S$100,000 in the prior year.
  • Pan Pacific Discovery Platinum Status.
  • UOB Travel Concierge Service.
  • Free weekday green rates at Sentosa Golf Club for one person.
  • 50% off weekday green fees at participating golf clubs in Southeast Asia.

If you’re considering signing up, the card currently has strong sign-up bonuses—80,000 miles available until June 30, 2026—and offers unlimited Dragon Pass lounge access for almost a year, making it still a worthy consideration.

Other Cards with Unlimited Lounge Access

Fortunately, UOB’s VI Metal Card isn’t the only option for unlimited lounge access; several others remain on the market. It’s crucial for cardholders to evaluate if the card retains its value or if they should explore alternatives post-May 2026.

While UOB has provided a lengthy notice period about these changes (kudos for that), frequent travelers will definitely feel the impact of this new policy.

In the end, it might be time to weigh your options for better lounge access benefits.
