Police fire rubber bullet at woman from close range while she was walking home

During the tumultuous anti-immigration protests in Los Angeles, LAPD officers appeared to target innocent bystanders with rubber bullets. A TikTok video shared on Monday by a user named Alexandria captured a moment when a woman attempted to navigate a street but was halted by a line of police officers.

The woman stood about five yards from the officers, seemingly trying to communicate something. “Look if they shoot her,” Alexandria remarked as she recorded.

Suddenly, a gunshot rang out, and the woman quickly doubled over in pain.

Alexandria rushed to assist another woman, who was wearing shorts and visibly distressed from being hit by a non-lethal round. “F-K-Off, she’s not doing anything,” Alexandria shouted at the officer.

She then guided the injured woman away from the police presence, warning others nearby, “They’ll shoot.”

“We’re moving! We’re moving! We’re stopped! She’s injured,” Alexandria urged the officers.

As they left, the injured woman revealed, “I live here.” It remained unclear where she had been shot.

In the background, the video captured the chaotic atmosphere that filled Los Angeles, marked by explosive sounds amid the protests, clashes between protesters and law enforcement, and car explosions.

The following night, chaos persisted. Mayor Karen Bass announced an 8 PM curfew in downtown due to escalating vandalism and looting, describing the situation as “a chaotic escalation.”

Reports indicated that both camera crews and Australian journalists were also caught in the line of fire, enduring rubber bullets while covering the riots.

These protests stemmed from ICE raids throughout Los Angeles County, which had reportedly led to the capture of numerous criminals, including serious offenders like child molesters and murderers.
