Pat McAfee reacts to false claim about Adam Schefter being banned

Pat McAfee Denies Adam Schefter Ban Rumors

Pat McAfee recently described the situation as “Bug-T.” On Thursday, Andrew Marchand from The Athletics reported that McAfee had seemingly “banned” Adam Schefter from his show after ESPN’s NFL insiders were absent during the March Free Agency Show.

However, the speculation was put to rest later that day when Schefter made his first appearance on “The Pat McAfee Show” in three months.

During the broadcast, McAfee commented, “I learned a lot about my business this morning in another article. It seems like it happens all the time. I’m not sure if it’s normal, but these rumors really take on a life of their own.” His frustrations with the rumors led to a lighthearted introduction for Schefter.

“Now join us: the banned man,” McAfee said as Schefter appeared. Launched into a bit of joviality, Schefter quickly had a laugh, referring to his interruption on the previous show, saying, “Pat, as I mentioned three months ago when I was cut off rudely, Aaron Rodgers signs with the Pittsburgh Steelers.”

This playful entry was a fun moment for NFL insiders and offered a reflection on how long it had been since Schefter last appeared on the show. His last visit coincided with the start of NFL free agency.

As fans waited for news, Rodgers finally made his long-anticipated signing with the Steelers. In the meantime, McAfee had welcomed NFL Network insider Ian Rapoport several times on his program.

In response to the swirling rumors, ESPN president Burke Magnus stated, “Pat and his show are thriving on ESPN,” and added, “It seems we have a tendency to focus on the individuals who are perceived to be failing ESPN. This rumor is just the latest example of that.”
