In-N-Out Burger Tops Employee Satisfaction Rankings
A recent survey has identified the most employee-friendly restaurant chains in the U.S., with In-N-Out Burger earning the top ranking for employee happiness. This comes from an analysis by William Blair, which examined 530,000 reviews across about 90 restaurant brands on Glassdoor over the past eleven years.
In-N-Out Burger employees have given their workplace a strong endorsement, as 91% reported that they would recommend the job to a friend. George Charlesworth, the chain’s vice president of operations, expressed appreciation for this recognition, stating they feel “honored” to be acknowledged for such high employee satisfaction.
Charlesworth noted the company’s foundational commitment to quality and service, emphasizing that the founders, Harry and Esther Snyder, have always aimed to create a positive culture from the start in 1948. They wanted, he said, to take care of both their customers and their employees.
Notably, this is the tenth consecutive year that In-N-Out has placed in the top ten for employee satisfaction. Last year, around 86% of their staff indicated they would suggest working there to others.
In-N-Out boasts a commitment to not just a happy workforce but also to aspects like competitive wages and benefits, fostering opportunities for growth. Charlesworth credited Lynsi Snyder, owner and president, for steering the company in this positive direction.
Coming in second was Raising Cane’s, a chicken chain based in Louisiana, where approximately 82% of employees reported a willingness to recommend the job to friends. Following closely in third and fourth place were Dutch Bros. Coffee and Chuy’s respectively.
The top five also includes Peet’s Coffee and Tea from the San Francisco Bay Area. Clearly, employee satisfaction remains a key focus in these companies, emphasizing the value of a supportive workplace.
