Indiana’s leading basketball talent also happens to be a close friend.
Tyrese Halliburton, who plays for the Pacers, disclosed to ESPN that he and Fever star Caitlyn Clark share group chats. Their partners, Jade Jones and Conor McCaffery, are included in these chats as well.
“We’re available 24/7,” Halliburton mentioned to ESPN. “We hang out a lot,” he added, implying a tight-knit relationship.
During Game 3 of the NBA Finals, Clark cheered on Halliburton as he achieved 22 points and 11 assists.
His impressive performance helped the Pacers secure a 2-1 series lead against the Thunder.
Halliburton also revealed that they enjoy double dates together.
In addition, there’s a video of the group chat that’s currently not public.
Clark shows such support for Halliburton that she even filmed her reaction to a pivotal play he made at the end of the game.
“I recorded myself reacting to the final play, and it’s a pretty iconic video,” Clark said. “Maybe it’ll be seen someday, but not yet.”
Halliburton confirmed the video’s existence, and Clark expressed that it was “crazy.”
Both players are key figures in the Indianapolis sports scene and have been instrumental in building connections between their teams over the past year.
This year’s Pacers team broke a 25-year Finals drought, largely thanks to Halliburton’s efforts.
Clark was drafted by the Fever and earned the title of WNBA Rookie of the Year in 2024, leading her team back to the playoffs for the first time since 2016.
The encouraging news for Indiana basketball fans is that both stars intend to spend their entire careers with the teams. “Tai and I want to stay here for the rest of our careers,” Clark said.
