Jalen Brunson Supports Mariska Hargitay at Film Premiere

Jalen Brunson, the standout player for the Knicks, showed his appreciation to Mariska Hargitay by attending the premiere of her directorial debut, My Mom Jane, at the Tribeca Film Festival. He was there with his wife, Ali, and his father, Rick, who is also an assistant coach for the Knicks.

The film delves into the life of Hargitay’s mother, Jayne Mansfield, using archival footage along with family interviews. It is slated for a limited theatrical release on June 20 and will be available on HBO starting June 27.

A number of Hargitay’s long-time co-stars from Law and Order: SVU were present at the premiere, including Chris Meloni, Peter Scanavino, and Ice-T. Hargitay, who has played Olivia Benson since 1999, has been a visible supporter of the Knicks over the years, frequently showing up at Madison Square Garden.

After the Knicks secured a jubilant 111-94 victory against the Pacers in Game 5, Brunson and Hargitay shared a heartfelt embrace on the court.

Additionally, Hargitay made an appearance on the Jumbotron during the game alongside her co-star Kelly Giddish. Interestingly, renowned Knicks fan Ben Stiller expressed some jealousy over their warm relationship.

In a podcast episode of Brunson and Josh Hart’s “Roommate Show,” Stiller remarked that Hargitay represents the ultimate aspiration for other Knicks fans, highlighting her close interactions with the team captain during games. He noted that her affectionate post-game hugs are something many fans would envy.

Brunson reflected on their connection, mentioning that it would continue to flourish while watching Law and Order: SVU together.

As Brunson reminisced, he shared how his father often watched the show, adding a note of nostalgia about its iconic theme song. He expressed that the more he watches the show now, the more he appreciates it.

Interestingly, Brunson also mentioned he was starstruck when he first met Hargitay.
