Brad Pitt Reflects on Go-Kart Rivalry with Tom Cruise

In a recent chat with Extra, Brad Pitt opened up about a friendly rivalry he shares with fellow actor Tom Cruise. The two were known to compete in go-kart races while filming together back in the 90s.

Pitt, now 61, reminisced about their last race, saying, “Tom and I have to come back there. He’s troubling me ever since. He got me at the last corner, and I’m still bitter about it 30 years later. He definitely had my number.”

The actors famously co-starred in the 1994 classic “Interview with a Vampire.” When the topic of collaborating again came up, Pitt joked that if he really needed a submarine ride, he might consider it.

Pitt is ready for a go-kart rematch against Cruise.

While Cruise is well-known for his death-defying stunts, Pitt has taken a different approach. He has recently done some high-speed driving while filming “F1: The Movie.” He described the experience of racing as exhilarating, saying, “It was such a thrill to be in those cars. It was like nothing I’ve experienced before.” He also mentioned he was focused more on the driving than the lines he had to deliver.

In “F1: The Movie,” Pitt portrays a talented Formula 1 racer from the 90s, making a comeback years later. He explained that much of the movie was filmed during actual Formula 1 events, which added an authentic vibe. “We integrated ourselves into the schedule of real races,” he said.

Pitt shared his excitement about being on set during the actual races, stating, “We’d be on the grid for just five minutes before the race started, capturing the energy and spectacle of it all.”

During an earlier interview with GQ, he spoke about navigating life in the public eye and what it’s been like to deal with media attention over the years. He admitted that it has sometimes felt like a constant distraction, affecting his personal ambitions.
