Trump shortens G7 visit after telling Iranians to 'leave' Tehran

President Donald Trump has opted to shorten his G7 trip, announcing on True Social that everyone in Tehran should evacuate. His decision came shortly after making this statement.

Alongside Trump, Secretary of State Marco Rubio will also cut his trip short due to the ongoing G7 meeting in Alberta, Canada, as reported by Fox News.

“I have to go back,” Trump mentioned during a photo opportunity with other world leaders. “You’ll probably notice what I’m seeing, and I need to return as soon as possible.”

The White House later confirmed that Trump’s decision was influenced by the current situation in the Middle East. In light of these developments, he has instructed his National Security Council to prepare for his return, according to sources.

Trump’s comments came in the wake of a message urging “everyone” in Iran to evacuate, which sparked videos on social media showing Iranians leaving the capital.

Interestingly, it seems that U.S. officials do not believe they have caught Iran off guard, maintaining a defensive stance in response to Trump’s remarks.

In a separate statement, Defense Secretary Pete Hegses indicated that the U.S. is focusing on a defensive approach. He emphasized the importance of strengthening the nation to pursue peace, explaining that ensuring safety and strength are his top priorities as Secretary of Defense. Hegses made it clear that while a peace deal is on the table, the real question is whether Iran will engage with it.
